Now turntables are used extensively in rap, hip hop and dance clubs. Crowe stars as true life mathematician John Nash, whose life takes a turn for the worse after some incredible discoveries. He played the compassionate nurse in the film Precious.
Recently I was inspired to do this music list based on two performances I saw on Dancing with the Stars. They each had themes centered on the future. The first was a professional ballroom dance couple showcasing their recent robotic performance at a ballroom dance championship. Garry and Rita Gehkman made an appearance on this dance competition reality show. Usually that is done on Dancing with the Stars’ results show. It was a nice change of pace to see them on the performance night instead. Later that same night my favorite celebrity/pro couple, Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, danced a futuristic cha-cha-cha that I absolutely loved.
Many people also connect kilt with Mel Gibson, who starred in “Braveheart”. He played a role in the movie and was wearing t as William Wallace but his acting made this cloth even more important to people and also worn more often at the streets. It was very important step for the history of kilt – it is not typical outfit and without appropriate matching and attitude it can make a terrible impression, that’s why it is not so popular.
Empire Burlesque, his self-produced follow-up to Infidels, was released in ’85. It was an odd mix of dance tracks and rock ‘n roll that won few fans. However, that same year Biograph, a 5-album, triple-disc box set did well.
Three Kings is one movie that I will definitely include on this list. This film was released in 1999 and directed by the very talented director, David O. Russell. What starts as a mission to steal gold after the Gulf War turns into something much more serious.
One movie that certainly has to be included on this list is Training Day. If you like cop movies, then this is a must-see. Hawke got nominated for best supporting actor in this movie, while Denzel Washington 12 years a slave awards years a slave awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance.
You’ve worked with Guillermo del Toro and Robert Rodriguez on more than one occasion. Does the director you will work with have anything to do with making a decision on what project to work on next?
Nat Faxon: Ideally, there is a connection for people who watch this movie. If they are young, they will hopefully see the hope in this situation that everything will work out just fine for this kid. And if they are older and looking back, they will hopefully remember that moment and – whether it was good or bad – how much they grew from it.
