Feb. 20 — Add up the Oscar wins of Meryl Streep (three), Jack Nicholson (three), and Steven Spielberg (two) and they would still not equal the awards won by Dennis Muren. With nine golden statuettes, Muren has more Oscars than any other living person. Muren’s first major picture as a visual effects artist was a little film called “Star Wars.” Over the past forty years he has helped revolutionize the world of visual effects in movies like “Jurassic Park” and “E.T.” He talked to Bloomberg about his career and his very first Oscar win.
