The annual pledge dance was a great suc-cess. Under the direction of Ernest Kromthe pledges decorated the house to repre-sent various night clubs. GAMMA PI Washington Seattle, Wash.—Due to the fact that for-mer W. M. By Haines is playing profes-sional football in the east this season, r nstarted the new year with an election:Bruce Miller, W. M.; Jack Starling, W. Sc;Arthur May, W. S.; and Bill Preisz, W. U. 460 THE PALM, December, 1937 Gamma Pi pledged 14 men this year,enough to fill the house and increase thetown chapter considerably. Alpha Tau Omega is proud of Steve Slivin-ski who continues to be a guard of note infootball circles on the coast although theteam has been on the wrong end of upsetsthis season. Johnny Nicholls is running themile in track polishing up for the springseason, while Fred Rosenwater hauls an oaron the lightweight crew squad. Rich Camp-bell has the honor of being head man instunts at athletic contests as the universitystunt duke. Gamma Pi is proud to report that it wasawarded a cup for the greatest improvementin scholarship among the organizations onthe Washington campus last year.—JachStarling. GAM
