2011 Ncaa Tournament Recap: March 18 East Region

There is some time to really take a look at what the Rams did and what the Rams might be able to do. Villanova though, is playing for a #1 seed and knows that they need this win. After all, the Jayhawks only two losses are to current ranked teams.

In college basketball this season, the Big East has once again taken its place as one of the most competitive conferences. The Big East could very well get eight bids in the NCAA Tournament, which is par for the course in this conference. At the least, seven Big East teams are likely safe to get NCAA Tournament bids, while the eight and ninth place teams will fight for a possible slot. Their last chance to do so is in the Big East tournament, where the power teams will battle each other out for better NCAA seeding.

Villanova beat some quality teams this year, but that is expected playing in the Big East. They beat teams like Marquette, UCLA, Cincinnati, Temple, West Virginia and Louisville. Their biggest win might have been the game against March Madness three-seed Syracuse. The game was only the second loss of the season for the Orange, who fell behind early thanks to Villanova hitting 8 of 13 in 3-pointers in the first half.

The Quakers were ranked as high as No. 23 in The Sports Network Top 25 2010 preseason college football poll and were ranked No. 24 by the same poll before being defeated by Villanova.

“People didn’t get to see his point guard skills,” explained DiLeo, who elected to give up his seat on the bench to move back upstairs into the front office, with Eddie Jordan taking his place “He wants to play point guard and is a very good defender.

On who might surprise people on the offensive line this season: “A guy who switched to center this spring, Jamie Pagliaro. He’s a young guy but he’s been here all summer long and he’s put in hard work, like the chalk talk and the video, I don’t think he missed one. He’s really put in the time and effort learning and fully being able to apply our offense. And depending how our center spot works out, he may shock some people.

Oops sorry there Brian, I can’t dog you too much. Any bowl game is a good bowl game and that’s why I’ll be going to see Purdue take on the Mighty Chippewas of Central Michigan at the Motor City bowl. My real answer is the Holiday Bowl with Texas and Arizona State going at each other. That bowl is always a shootout and this year should be no different.

Here’s a look at the teams who have passed into the 2010 Sweet Sixteen, along with all match-ups and times of play. Sweet Sixteen NCAA tournament action will take place March 25-26.
